Morbier

Morbier cheese with vegetable ash.

When you open the packaging this cheese smells to high hell!  However, the flavor of the cheese itself is surprisingly mild.  There is a definite taste of ash, but its not overpowering.  A small pad of it on a soft flavored cracker and its truly delicious.

Random cheeses for your pleasure...

There is no rhyme nor reason to this cheese listing.  I've been so terrible about keeping this thing updated!  It's about time I give my dear followers (or lack there of) a nice bit to read and consider.

Just the way it sounds.  Horseradish flavored cheddar cheese.  If you enjoy cheese and you enjoy horseradish then you'll absolutely love this baby!  It's great by itself or on mild crackers.  The taste is very strong, but it can't be beat.

Fig and walnut spreadable cheese.  It's sweet (but not too sweet), crunchy and nutty.  A unique flavor, to be sure, but one that you can definitely sink your teeth into!  Great on crackers or crisps.

This is not one of my favorite cheeses but I'd recommend trying it at least once.  It reminds me, if anything, of cheesecake.  Toffee flavored cheesecake.  But the texture is different so it's peculiar.

Such a soft cheese!  Easily spreadable if left out at room temperature for about twenty minutes.  Cold it can easily be cubed and eaten with toothpicks.  The flavor is very light, a little sweet, a little tangy, and overall delicious.

I tried this guy just the other day.  The brand name is Greek Kiss.  It's goat cheese wrapped in grape leaves.  It's absolutely fantastic.  I'm not sure if you're actually supposed to eat the leaves with it, but I did!  It gives this delicate, flaky cheese a nice crunch.  The effect as a whole is entirely Greek.

Wine Cheese!

Kaukauna spreadable cheese has this variety to its name: Port Wine!  It's sweet and tangy with and oh so delicious!  This spread goes great on crackers.  I only with that they still produced the Merlot version.  It was even more tasty!

Springbank Claret wine cheese.  This honestly isn't my favorite wine cheese, but it's not bad!  The flavor is more subtle than it is in most varieties I've come across.  The wax on the outside peels away easily and the inside is soft and delicately tangy.

Derby cheese with Elderberry Wine.  This is the bee's knees right here.  My favorite cheese of all time.  I'm afraid to say that I haven't been able to find it in a long time, so it may be out of production now.   Still, if you manage to come across this beauty, BUY IT!  For the love of God and all that is holy.  To my tastebuds, there is no cheese that ranks higher than this wonderful product.  I could eat a block of it for a meal any day.

Start with Kirsch.

An alternative to my candy blog.  Another one of my edible obsessions is cheese.

Gourmandise with Kirsch is a French gourmet cheese.  Spreadable and with a delicious cherry flavor.  I've bought this cheese numerous times and found that my favorite thing to spread it on is a plain bagel - that right there is a meal in my eyes.  Simple and sweet and sinfully decadent.  I could eat this every day and never get tired of it.
